East Carolina University (ECU) has secured a significant addition to its men’s basketball program with the commitment of Croatian forward Vito Perkovic for the 2025 recruiting class. Standing at 6-foot-9 and weighing 220 pounds, Perkovic brings a blend of international experience and versatile skills to the Pirates’ frontcourt.
Perkovic currently plays for Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he has been a standout performer. His participation in events like the Dr. Pepper Classic highlighted his potential, with evaluators noting his raw talent and areas for development, particularly in footwork and defensive consistency.

Before his tenure in the United States, Perkovic developed his game with KK Zadar in Croatia, competing in youth national teams and domestic leagues. His international background has provided him with a diverse playing style and a high basketball IQ.
Perkovic’s commitment to ECU reflects the program’s strategic focus on integrating international talent to enhance team dynamics. His addition is expected to bolster the Pirates’ frontcourt depth and contribute to their competitiveness in the upcoming seasons.
With this commitment, ECU continues to demonstrate its dedication to building a diverse and dynamic roster, aiming for a strong performance in the 2025 season.
