East Carolina University (ECU) has made a big splash in the 2026 recruiting class, securing top quarterback talents. After a highly successful official visit, #7 Mason Holtzclaw has officially committed to the Pirates, while #12 Noah Lee, a dynamic dual-threat quarterback, has signed on to join the program as well.
#7 Mason Holtzclaw Commits After Strong Official Visit
Holtzclaw, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound quarterback from Carrollton High School in Georgia, officially committed to ECU following his official visit on June 12. The visit allowed Holtzclaw to see ECU’s facilities up close, as well as engage with the coaching staff, including offensive coordinator John David Baker. His decision to commit to ECU ends a month-long recruitment process that saw major programs, such as Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, North Carolina, and South Carolina, vying for his commitment.
Holtzclaw, who reclassified back to the 2026 class after initially being part of the 2027 cycle, has been one of the most coveted quarterbacks in this year’s recruiting class. His combination of size, athleticism, and strong arm makes him a perfect fit for ECU’s evolving offensive system.
#12 Noah Lee Joins ECU After Stellar High School Career
In addition to Holtzclaw, ECU has secured a commitment from #12 Noah Lee, a standout quarterback from Jacksonville Christian Academy in Alabama. Lee, standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 195 pounds, put up impressive stats during his junior year, completing 64.7% of his passes for 2,505 yards and 32 touchdowns, along with 377 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. His dual-threat ability and versatility made him a highly sought-after recruit, and ECU’s offer was just the right fit.
Lee’s commitment adds another dynamic talent to ECU’s quarterback room, and his impressive high school career made him a perfect target for the Pirates. With offers from Arkansas State, Jacksonville State, Marshall, and Southern Miss, Lee chose ECU as the best place to develop his skills for the future.
What This Means for ECU’s Future
With both Holtzclaw and Lee now officially committed to the program, ECU has positioned itself as a serious contender in the AAC for the upcoming seasons. Holtzclaw’s elite passing ability and Lee’s dual-threat capability give the Pirates a strong foundation to build on, and both quarterbacks are expected to compete for the starting role once they arrive on campus.
This successful recruiting effort highlights ECU’s growing strength in recruiting, and the program is now poised to have a solid quarterback future with these two promising young talents.
