The Boston Red Sox are moving one of their top power bats up the ladder. According to an industry source, 22-year-old Blaze Jordan has been promoted to Triple-A Worcester following a red-hot stretch in Double-A.
Jordan, who splits time between first and third base, impressed with his all-around performance for the Portland Sea Dogs this season. Across 44 games and 176 plate appearances, he hit .320 with a .415 OBP, .513 SLG, and a .928 OPS, tallying six home runs, 11 doubles, 37 RBIs, and 30 runs scored. He also showed plate discipline with 22 walks and just 19 strikeouts.

Jordan started 28 games at first base and 14 at third, showing his defensive versatility as well.
Originally drafted by Boston in the third round (89th overall) in 2020, Jordan signed for $1.75 million. Once ranked as high as the No. 7 prospect in the Red Sox system by Baseball America in 2022, his stock dipped after a tough 2023 campaign. Entering 2024, he had fallen to No. 21 and was no longer listed in the outlet’s Top 30.
But a breakout May put him squarely back on the radar. Jordan batted .390 (32-for-82) last month with a .490 OBP, .671 SLG, and 1.161 OPS, slugging six home runs and driving in 24 runs over 26 games.
Jordan has also been an advocate for mental health in the game. In a candid post on X (formerly Twitter) in October 2023, he opened up about battling anxiety and depression, revealing that it reached a “breaking point” in late 2021, leading to a brief hospitalization and missing the final two weeks of that season.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora praised Jordan’s openness this spring: “We’re proud of him. It’s like what Jarren Duran went through — it takes courage. Being honest about mental health doesn’t just help the player, it helps the whole organization and beyond.”
Jordan is expected to debut for the Worcester Red Sox (WooSox) on Tuesday against Rochester at Polar Park.
