Now, it’s official.

They did a tremendous job with (the trip),” Russell told Bama247 on Sunday afternoon. “The guys and the recruits were just great. The coaches were fantastic. Just creating relationships with people was just great.”

The entire coaching staff pulled out the red carpet for the Russell, who was joined by his parents and sister. The partnership with Nick Sheridan clicking right away, the proven development of Michael Penix and offensive scheme all played important role.

“Me and coach Sheridan have hopped on the film,” Russell stated before his trip. “We bonded. When you feel that there is a potential of you going somewhere, it was that feeling. When I was on a zoom call with him, we were watching film, he was breaking it down and he was saying ‘dude, you are going to be a wonderful match in our offense.’ I already know that the development key is going to be perfect. I already know that the relationship that I have created with the complete coaching staff is going to be outstanding. I already know like everything is fantastic, so it is just one of those things where I keep my eyes open for sure.”

Another big factor was the opportunity to chat with Jalen Milroe during one of the dinners last weekend.
