As seen on Virtue’s Instagram profile, “tessavirtue17,” on Friday, Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly and his wife, three-time Olympic gold medallist Tessa Virtue, had their first child, a son named McCormick Rielly.

The pair announced their impending parenthood via a series of Instagram images from an off-season vacation that seemed to confirm their pregnancy back in May.

Thousands of likes and comments have been left on Friday’s post as fans have flocked to congratulate and wish the new parents well. Virtue labeled the photo, “McCormick, Rielly.”

This is so adorable. A responder said, “Welcome to the Leafs family, baby McCormick.”

“Well done! Very delighted for you two,” commented someone another.

Along with Rielly and Virtue’s infant, there are also a few close-ups of McCormick in the carousel of photos.
