On July 2, the Las Vegas Aces easily defeated the Indiana Fever 88-69 to retain their title as WNBA champions. However, a conversation between Kelsey Plum and Caitlin Clark that went viral online suggested that the Fever star would be upset about the loss.
Plum scored an incredible 34 points, pulled down six rebounds, and dished five assists to lead her team to victory. The 22-year-old put up another strong performance in her debut campaign, shooting for 13 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds in the defeat. This was her fourth double-double of the year.
However, when it came time for the two to shake hands at the conclusion of the game, Clark ignored her at first, snubbing her before it became clear that she was kidding. They shook hands and continued talking, laughing it off, but it undoubtedly attracted notice on the internet.
A user uploaded the video and included the comment “KELSEY PLUM AND CAITLIN CLARK,” along with emojis of laughing and sobbing.
“Lol this interaction between Kelsey Plum and Caitlin Clark,” said another.
One person wrote, “This Kelsey Plum and Caitlin Clark moment at the end of tonight’s game,” while another person used an emoji for laughter.
